The answers before you send metal or place an order
Most refineries in this market will not tell you a single number until you have already sent an enquiry. Here is ours, in full, on one page. If something you need is not answered here, email us and you will get a straight reply.
What we do not accept
- Platinum group metals. Gold and silver only. PGM content in a mixed lot is recovered in our lab and is not settled separately. We would rather tell you this now than surprise you at assay.
- Lots below a contained value of $10,000. A lot below this is not economical for either side. Below our minimum we will still assess and assess free of charge, but we will not process it.
What is the minimum lot?
+
A contained value of $10,000 in gold or silver. That is the same floor Dillon Gage and other established refiners work to, and it is the figure that makes the numbers on this page worth reading.
We assess every lot free of charge, whether or not it reaches the minimum. If your lot is close, email us with an approximate weight and we will tell you where it sits before you ship anything.
How fast is turnaround?
+
Our production is automated, which is why we are usually faster and more consistent than a traditional workshop operation. The constraint on turnaround is almost never our machines. It is the two things below, and knowing about them before you ship is most of the value of this page.
- Assay of incoming material. We assay every lot on arrival. Until the assay is issued you do not know what you have, and we do not pay you until the assay is signed off.
- Your own business cycle. If you are tolling your metal and want the refined output back before your market window closes, tell us the date at the outset and we will sequence the work around it.
Email us with your material type and weight and we will give you a real turnaround for your lot specifically, not a generic figure.
How does payment work, and why is there a deposit?
+
You are paid on the assay result, not on the weight you shipped. We assay, we certify, and settlement follows the certified result.
The deposit exists for one reason: it is the only thing that makes the two sides of this transaction safe at the same time. A refinery that pays out full value for material before it has been assayed and while it is still in the melt is paying for a promise. The deposit is the client's commitment that the material is going to arrive, and ours that the value is going to be settled.
For an established client whose work we know, this becomes a running account and the deposit stops being a per-lot event. Ask us about a running account or pool account when you email.
What about escrow for international buyers?
+
Yes, and for a first transaction with a new refinery it is the right way to do it. It is not our default for a client we already settle with, but it is available and we will name a licensed escrow provider for your country.
Two directions, two different risks. If you are sending us metal to refine, the exposure is the material in transit and your documentation. If you are buying bars, the exposure is the payment leaving your account before you have seen the serial and certificate. Escrow covers the second case, and it is the one that makes a first international order feel safe.
We are happy to settle through a licensed third-party escrow for a first order. We hold the refined product against release, and you release funds once the bar is verified. Funds move only when both sides are satisfied.
Be careful who you choose. Escrow must be through a licensed provider, ideally one your own bank already recognises. We will not name a provider we have not verified. We will always state plainly which provider we suggest and why, and we will happily work with an escrow provider you already trust.
Never wire funds to a personal account. This page is a general description of our process, not an instruction to any specific provider. Verify the provider independently before funding. We will never ask a client to send funds anywhere that is not a documented business account of this company.
What materials do you accept?
+
Gold and silver in any form we can assay: jewellery scrap, manufacturing sweepings and offcuts, melt and dore, granulation and casting grain, minted bar returns, and industrial precious metal waste. Full material detail is on the Sell Your Gold page.
Documentary requirement: identity, proof of origin of the material, and export papers. This is not an obstacle we invented. SAM holds RJC Chain of Custody and we are a UAE Good Delivery refiner. Our accreditation is a commercial asset with a value, because it is what allows your refined output to be sold into the channels you want to sell it into. The certification on your metal is the product.
What documentation comes with my metal?
+
Assay certificate, and for minted and cast output a unique serial number with a sealed bar and its certificate of authenticity. Responsible-sourcing documentation runs with the material from intake to final assay. We hold RJC Chain of Custody, RJC Code of Practices, Fairmined, Fairtrade, UAE Good Delivery for gold and silver, and ISO/IEC 17025:2017, and independent assurance reports are published annually.
Verification is not something you have to take on trust: bar serials can be verified directly, and our accreditations are published with their certificates.
Do you ship internationally?
+
Yes. We export finished bars internationally from Dubai, and we handle export documentation.
Country-specific logistics, insurance and any destination-specific requirements are confirmed by email, because they vary by destination and by destination country regulation. Logistics and insurance details are part of the terms we send you.
Why don't you publish a price?
+
We are a refinery, not a retail shop, and our price moves with the metal market every hour. A published price would be wrong within a day, and a stale price on a gold page is worse than no price at all.
So we do the honest thing instead: we publish everything that is stable, which is the minimum lot, the metals we accept, the floor, the documentation you receive and how settlement works. The number that depends on spot, on the weight you want, and on the making charge for that specific item, we quote you directly and in writing once we know what you need.
Ask for a quote and you will get a real figure, not a form response. Same business day.
How do I start?
+
Email [email protected] with three things: the material, an approximate weight, and whether you are sending metal to refine or buying bars.
Free assessment first, so the first conversation costs you nothing. We reply the same business day.
